Sustainable Development Goals
International Organizations in the world, specifically the United Nations, seeks to improve non-traditional sectors for member countries, by creating work programs or campaigns that can assist in the development of non-state issues. One of the work program that were launched by UN is The Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs, quoted through the official site of United Nations Development Program, SDGs is a program were adopted by all United Nations member since 2015. In order to make a universal call to get a solutions to end poverty, planet issues and about peace and prosperity that can be applied by peoples around the world in 2030.
The SDGs are conceptualized at 17 points which is an unstable world problem. Therefore, the main purpose of implementing SDGs is a method of balancing social, economic and environmental sustainability. For that reason, the wisdom of every human being is needed to achieve the goals and targets of this work program and the success of the achievement of each sector discussed.
Talking about the population of human life, currently, the young generation plays an important role in the progress of the SDGs. According to the latest United Nations estimates of the world's population, in 2019 youth numbered 1.2 billion persons between ages 15 and 24 years, or around one in every six persons worldwide. By looking at the potential population of the younger generation that is quite possible, the younger generation can be said as leader in the future. Thats why, it is very important regarding the delivery of information and also the involvement of young people in achieving the global vision in the future, especially SDGs.
This is useful to increase youth awareness about the importance of the 17 SDGs published by the United Nations. Consequently, the younger generation can open discussion forums about it, or prefer to play an active role in the activities therein, because all those programs that worked by SDGs can be found in everyday life. Simply stated, the activities that can be carried out by the younger generation in applying SDGs points can be started from themselves first.
One simple way for young people to be active in organizing SDGs is by joining SDGs discussion forums. The official youth discussion forums in the SDGs is the UN Major Group for Children and Youth. Functioning as a forum for young people to get media discussions via online and offline. In addition, training activities for young people to actively participate in SDGs activities can be received at the discussion forum.
More than that, teens will play a lively role in turning into youth portrayed within the UN. Like being active on UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth. The Youth Envoy’s role is to push the positive linkage between the UN and teens. otherwise you will try and be a part of The UN Youth Delegate Programme was established as another type of youth illustration and participation at the UN. Young delegates are enclosed in an exceedingly country’s official delegation to the overall Assembly and varied useful. The role of a youth representative varies from country to country, however ordinarily includes providing input to their delegation on problems relating to youth and taking part in their delegation’s general work by attending conferences and informal negotiations.
The younger generation may move by creating small-scale programs with the essential assumptions of the SDGs. Youth will give new energy, creativity, and dynamism to deal with the myriad of world challenges nowadays. Young leaders have contributed recent ideas, and lots of youth start-ups and initiatives nowadays are exhibiting artistic entrepreneurial skills in addressing varied problems underneath SDGs. The UN encourages teens to share such ideas to others round the world. Program love The Young Leaders Initiative nominates seventeen teens each year whose leadership is catalyzing the action of the Goals or Year of Living Sustainably shares tips about a way to lead a property mode, will be found round the world.
